Sarnia has its own share of whack jobs and woo-woo artists. My recent post was about Darin James but one that citizens of Sarnia are likely more familiar with is the "Psychic" on East Street - Mary Young/Mary Demitro.
When searching for her, I came across a site "Gypsy Psychic Scams" that has an interesting personal account of Mary. You can read it yourself, here.
Unfortunately, the story is told by someone who is ashamed of what happened and obviously doesn't want to put her family through a public trial. Mary gets to continue scamming people because of such shame that people feel.
It is very likely that this is not the only time that Mary took advantage of a situation (not to mention that "psychics" don't have the abilities they claim to have and the simple act of taking money from someone who honestly believes it to be something other than entertainment should be illegal on its own).
If "psychics" always started AND ended each "reading" with "This is purely for entertainment purposes and any 'hits' that I get are purely by chance or by you interpreting them yourself. I do not have any psychic abilities and what I practice is simply manipulation intended to make you believe I know something I don't. Again, this is purely for entertainment only", I wouldn't have a problem with what they do. They, however, claim to have skills and abilities that a million dollars says they don't have.

Paul - good point! Both of these tools have two different names. (I shouldn't call them "tools" because tools actually have uses!)
I suspect that it has something to do with taxes, criminal records or the like (well it should!) or maybe "Scheiding" isn't a very mystical name? I'm not sure which is the correct name with Mary, either - she seems to go by only by "Mary" on her sign. (Or maybe they "predict" that people will call them at home if they use their real names?)
Maybe the "fake" name is the first clue to what you're about to get (lied to).

Mary Demitro the original reader has been dead for years, she was a Romanian gypsy. After she died her extended family members started using her name. The whole family are a blood line of scammers and cheaters.

We would seek and find the true answers to what is happening in the here and now. Forget the past and deel with anyone striving to bring forth old stories of yor and right. There is no yor and right except the here and now. Get rid of the priestcraft of society. No matter who it is who seeks to brainwash others to their particular way of thought , these need dealt with by society.
Psychic ability is in truth a power of each and every one who is born but has been shut out by organised religion upon threat of death for so long it is now a non function entity within each of us unless we work to show it. Organised religion had anyone who showed them up for the decreped worms of the world that they are put to a horrible death.
Maybe it is time to turn the tables on these lechers of the world.

I am a born and raised Sarnian and I was reading what you said about this Mary Young on East Str.I have heard some bad stories about her , how she and her family scams people out of money. The only way she does it is buy her having that scamming psychic phony store front being ran out of her house. Are theyre no laws to prohibit her from running that Phony Scamming Pyschic. People should start calling and complaining about her practices . Its disgusting how these people get away with this. I would imagine she has a lot of victims out there.
I have heard from friends in Sarnia that this Mary Young is a phony scammer who trys to get peoples money. I feel for those whom have been victimized by her. She must not have any education to support herself so she resorts to stealing from people through lying ,manipultive ways of pretending to be a psychic. I bet she has a record somewhere if not here in Canada, I bet in the US.
Okay so what does this Mary character look like and is she still in Sarnia? I just got scammed in NS by some woman and her family that promptly skipped town after I started asking questions. I know they were in Vancouver before here at some point but I wonder if it's this Mary under a different alias. Thanks!
